Education

I studied in Vienna and Geneva and over the years, I have earned three college degrees:

Transcultural Communication (BA)

Conference Interpreting (MA)

Translation (MA)

My working languages are German, English and French and during my studies I supplemented my solid linguistic education with several extensive stays abroad. My journey has taken me from Los Angeles to Toronto, Geneva, Montreal and finally London.

Since January 2020, I have also been working as a certified translator and sworn court interpreter for English.

Professional experience

Court interpreting

As a certified translator and sworn court interpreter for English I provide certified translations of official papers and documents for authorities and I also regularly interpret at court hearings.

However, I also work for private individuals in the non-official field. This means that I provide certified translations of official documents such as diplomas, contracts or marriage certificates.

Conference interpreting

I can already look back on numerous interpreting assignments for a wide variety of clients. My assignments range from short assignments to guided tours and day-long conferences. However, I was also able to demonstrate and apply my interpreting skills at a major sports event, the Special Olympics 2017 in Austria, when I worked as an interpreter and translator for the American team.

Translation

With time, my areas of specialisation (e.g. legal texts or medical technology) have developed. However, I  was also able to gain additional professional experience in highly interesting areas during my various stays abroad and fixed-term appointments.

Among other things, I worked in the field of video game localisation in Montreal and as a project manager and translator in a translation agency in London. Most recently, I was able to further improve and deepen my skills and knowledge in the fields of translation and interpreting in the language service unit of the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

Philosophy

Professionalism, enthusiasm, and customer-orientation are of paramount importance to me and in order to sharpen and hone my language skills and to further expand my expertise in my areas of specialisation, I regularly attend workshops, seminars and conferences.
